Vitamin E for Softer, Younger Looking Skin

Tocopherol, or vitamin E, is a fat-soluble vitamin that is also an important antioxidant. It is found in both plant and animal foods, but the best sources are vegetable and seed or nut oils as the oils of all grains, seeds and nuts contain vitamin E. For the nutrient to be preserved, however, extraction of the oils from nuts and seeds must be done naturally by cold pressing, rather than by heat or chemical extraction, used commonly in food processing.

Vitamin E is used in most of our skin creams and lotions because it is thought to play a role in rejuvenating skin. Its antioxidant properties are also important in fighting free radical damage. Researchers have found that protecting cells and tissue from free radical damage and pollution may also help prevent pre-mature aging and many chronic diseases.
